| LLEISIAU NEWYDD I’W GLYWED MEWN GŴYL RYNGWLADOL |
| Daw AGOR DRYSAU / OPENING DOORS ar gorau ar gyfer cynulleidfaoedd ifanc o ar draws y byd ac yn 2010 mi fydd yr Ŵyl hefyd yn llwyfannu Darlleniadau Cyhoeddus o 6 ddrama newydd gan 6 dramodydd deinamig. Mae Arad Goch, cynhyrchwyr yr ŵyl, yn hynod balch o’r digwyddiad newydd yma.
Fel rhan o ddathliadau Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch yn 20 mlwydd oed cynhaliwyd cystadleuaeth sgwennu sgript. Yr unig ofyniad i’r gystadleuaeth oedd y ddrama yn addas ar gyfer cynulleidfa o blant neu bobl ifanc. Roedd y diddordeb yn anhygoel a daeth 41 o sgriptiau i law erbyn y dyddiad cau. Ar ôl llawer o ddarllen ac ail-ddarllen daeth 6 sgript i’r amlwg. Y 6 buddugol yw Mark Williams, Katherine Chandler, Dylan Wyn Williams, Bethan Marlow, Matthew Lynch a Gijsje Kooter.
Cymry yw Mark, Katherine, Dylan a Bethan, gyda Bethan a Dylan yn sgwennu yn y Gymraeg. Daw Matthew o ychydig dros y ffin yn Tewkesbury a mae Gijsje yn dod o’r Iseldiroedd. Mae gan y chwech drama bynciau hollol amrywiol o ysbrydion dieflig i arholiadau coginio.
Gwobr y gystadleuaeth yw bod tîm proffesiynol, cyfarwyddydd ac actorion, yn gweithio ar y sgript yn y stafell ymarfer ac yna’n perfformio Darlleniad Cyhoeddus. Pa blatfform gwell i’ch gwaith nac yng ngŵyl AGOR DRYSAU / OPENING DOORS gyda chyfarwyddwyr a chynhyrchwyr theatr o bob ran o’r byd? Prin bod yna siawns tebyg i ysgrifennu newydd.
Cynhelir y Darlleniadau Cyhoeddus yng Nghanolfan Arad Goch ar ddydd Mercher 17eg a dydd Iau 18fed o Fawrth.

| NEW VOICES TO BE HEARD AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL |
| AGOR DRYSAU / OPENING DOORS showcases the best in children’s theatre from all around the world and in 2010 the festival will also stage Rehearsed Readings of 6 new plays by 6 dynamic playwrights. Arad Goch, who produce the festival, are extremely excited about this new event for 2010.
As part of Arad Goch Theatre Company’s 20th Birthday celebrations last year a scriptwriting competition was held. The only requirement was that the play entered was suitable for an audience of children or young people. The response was incredible with scripts arriving from all over the world - America, Amsterdam and Aberdare. 41 scripts arrived by the closing date and after a lot of reading and re-reading they have been wittled down to the best 6. The six finalists are Mark Williams, Katherine Chandler, Dylan Wyn Williams, Bethan Marlow, Matthew Lynch and Gijsje Kooter.
Mark, Katherine, Dylan and Bethan are Welsh playwrights, with Dylan and Bethan’s entries in Welsh. Matthew is from just over the border in Tewkesbury and Gijsje is Dutch, the only finalist not from the UK. The six plays have varied subject matters from ghouls and ghosts to cookery exams.
The competition prize is that a professional team, of director and actors, work on the script in the rehearsal room and then give a public Rehearsed Reading. What better place to have your work previewed than at AGOR DRYSAU / OPENING DOORS with theatre directors and producers from all around the world in the audience? There could hardly be a better opportunity for new writing.
The Rehearsed Readings will be held at the Arad Goch Centre on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th of March.

| Mae bar croesawgar yn rhan hanfodol o wyl dda - ac eleni, ar y nos Iau, Wener a Sadwrn neilltuwyd Clwb St David's yn Stryd Eastgate yng nghanol y dre fel bar swyddogol yr wyl. Dyma'r clwb preifat hynaf yng Ngymru (a'r ail hynaf ym Mhrydain) ac mae'r decor a'r awyrgylch yn brofiad yn ei hun.

| Festival Bar |
| The bar is an important part of any festival - where discussions continue and thirst is satisfied. On Thurdsay, Friday and Saturday evenings the festival bar will be in the St David's Club, Eastgate St, in the town centre. This is the oldest private club in Wales and the second oldest in the UK; the club has a wonderful ambience and has to be experienced.
On Friday night there will be folk music - there is an invitation (but no obligation) for anyone to contribute to the entertainment! |

| Thursday 13.3.08 3.45pm (in Arad Goch, Bath St)
Rehersed Readings of extracts of scripts proposed and commissioned by Welsh companies - the discussion will be about how and what we commission for our audiences, and why.
Friday 14.3.08 3.45pm (in Arad Goch, Bath St)
Rehersed Readings of scripts that are translation of foreign work and the following discussion will focus on the pros and cons of producing foreign work, and the process of translating from language to language and from culture to culture.
Saturday 15.3.08 2pm (in Arad Goch, Bath St)
Many of the productions at the festival will include live music so this seesion will be a round table discussion about "Music in Theatre for Young Audiences - Why and How". This will be a chance to exchange ideas and information about process and practice.

Yn ystod yr Wyl bydd cyfle i weld y cynhyrchiad cyntaf oll i'w lwyfannu yn yr adeilad newydd sef cynhyrchiad Theatr Iolo - Lenny - ar nos Fercher 12.3.08 am 9.30y.h. Yn ddiweddarach yn yr wythnos bydd cyfle i weld gwaith Arad Goch yn yr adeilad gyda pherfformiad o Burning Monkey ar nos Iau 13.3.08 am 8y.h a Winter Pictures ar y dydd Gwener am ganol dydd.
Bydd trafodaethau'r Wyl hefyd yn yr adeilad - am 3.45 ar y dydd Iau a Gwener ac am 2 ar y dydd Sadwrn. Hefyd lawnsir Asiantaeth Cenedlaethol Cymru ar gyfer Theatr i Bobl Ifanc yn yr adeilad am 3.30 ar y dydd Iau.

| The big news is that we will be back in our Bath St base just in time for the festival -so this is a busy but very exciting time for us.
If you are in town during the festival call in to have a look at our fantastic new building - there will also be an opportunity to see the very first production in the building Lenny on Wednesday 12.3.08 at 9.30pm and then two plays by Arad Goch later in the week - Burning Monkey on Thursday 13.3.08 at 8pm and Winter Pictures on Friday 14.3.08 at 12pm.
The discussion sessions will also be held in the Arad Goch building - at 3.45 on Thursday and Friday and at 2pm on Saturday. On Thursday at 3.30pm this will be the venue for the Launch of the National Agency of Wales for Theatre for Young People. So there will be plenty of buzz both in town and in Aberystwyth Arts Centre which is the main base for the festival. |
